Tonight I went to a church service at a Presbyterian church. One of my best friends, Jason, was preaching. Matt 13:44-46. I met Jason at my first drug treatment program, Soliders for Christ, 8/04. Lil Chris was there, I met him at my second program. It was like a little reunion of 20 or so of us from three different programs, includeing the owners of the third program I was in for a year. The one where I figured I have to give everything up if I wanted to change my life. I came to the conclusion that I needed to let go of everything, drugs, sex, music, money, family, freedom, even love, and my hopes and dreams. Everything about my life was stained with evil. I couldn't imagine at the time where I might be going, or that in just a few short years I would be married to a woman that is far beyond what I deserve.
There are a few instances in my life when I knew God was with me. I hope to write soon those times and places and stories. For now I will say that recently, when I thought God was ignoreing me, or maybe he didn't exsist, he made it clear in more than a few ways that, "the LORD your God will be with you where ever you go." Joshua 1:9

  1. How did it feel to see the Ma---ells. Alot of memories? Take the good ones and leave the bad. How did you like the Presbytarian church? I enjoyed it, we brought the inlaws!!! Imagine a mindset in Christ that says "We don't have to agree on everything, but I respect and accept you." Is it possible to accept, respect, and honor those who we don't agree with? When the collective body of Christ gets to the place of its not about being right or wrong but that Jesus is glorified(Jn16)and unity is reached. A step further, "How do I accept, respect, and honor those like'homosexuals, muslims, stuffy religious, etc.....' this is what the Lord is speaking to me about know in my heart of hearts. How to actively and truely accept whole heartidly those that are lost in the world but still accept and love them without approving and condoning there wrong actions, know what I mean. For so long it seems christians are those to tell you the wrongs and etc. but Jesus wants us to show love. Honor!!!! We have not seen to much of that played out in real life ministry huh bro!!! Lets look at David for example. A total man of honor. He respected and honored Saul above all else. You know the story. Such honor in the heart of David he morned and lamented when Saul died. Huhh. Time to be king, personal upgrade from outcast in the wilderness to king of Israel, and he weeps at Sauls death. This David is a man after God's own heart. This is were I desire to be!! So often though we would rejoice at the fall of the Sauls in our lives. This is were the Lord desires to take us, the place of selflessness. Men of honor. It has been a real struggle with Carries parents lately, they are very "If its not Southern Baptist its from the devil" please pray for us.
